Prerequisites
- Rabby support was added in firmware version 1.6. So make sure you have at least firmware v 1.6 installed. You can verify the firmware version on your ZERO via Settings → About this device.
If needed you can find all information about the update, including detailed step-by-step instructions, here: https://www.ngrave.io/firmware - For now, only the Rabby browser extension is supported. The minimum required version of the Rabby browser extension is v. 0.92.85.
Only download the extension from the official website: https://rabby.io - The Rabby browser extension is not compatible with Firefox or Edge. So, make sure to use Chrome or a Chromium-based browser like Brave browser.
You don't need an existing Rabby Wallet before you can connect your ZERO.
How to synchronize
- On your ZERO, go to Settings → Sync with app → Rabby Wallet. This will display a QR-code.
- In the Rabby browser extension, click on the "Add an address" icon in the top right and then "Connect Hardware Wallets" → "NGRAVE ZERO".
If prompted, allow Rabby access to your webcam. - During initial setup, you'll be required to set a password to unlock the extension. This password is used every time you open the Rabby Wallet extension and is unrelated to your ZERO.
If you had already set up Rabby Wallet before, this step will be skipped. - Scan the QR-code on your ZERO, by holding it in front of your webcam. The camera image is blurred for security reasons, but you should be able to scan the QR-code without any issue.
- Rabby will present a list of ETH accounts. This list will contain all ETH addresses for your wallet, regardless of any hidden accounts or how many accounts you already had added on ZERO.
- Select the accounts that you want to have available via Rabby.
To help identify your accounts, you can click the right side of the screen to display on-chain information about the selected accounts (you can see which chains are used, the first transaction time and the current balance in USD). - You can always add or remove accounts later (see How to edit, add or remove a ZERO account from Rabby?).
Your ZERO accounts will now show in Rabby as "NGRAVE1", "NGRAVE2" and so on, depending on which accounts you synced.
If you're also using MetaMask or other browser based wallet, you might notice a sign saying "MetaMask is in use and Rabby is banned". Click the "Flip" button and you can set Rabby wallet as your preferred choice. Now you can access all dApps that MetaMask supports.
